Who We Are

Theatre Artemisia and our company of actors are dedicated to new works, new voices, and new experiences for Michigan audiences. We aim to highlight the works and voices of women, the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrant communities. Our seasons will be focused on women written, women led plays.

By bringing together a core group of experienced and passionate actors, writers, designers and directors, Theatre Artemisia hopes to create and provide relevant theatrical experiences that discuss uncomfortable truths and confront internalized biases to a diverse audience. We hope to educate and inspire our audiences to speak their own truth.

Our Mission Statement

This theatre is founded on the belief that theatre and the arts are not only for entertainment and expression of the human experience, but also a tool for teaching empathy and empowering the voices of our communities. We want to be a conduit for conversations of social and political change in our community. 

Live theatre and original storytelling has the power to bring audiences together in a way that no other thing can - theatre has a power that not only unites us, but invites us to study and celebrate the trials and triumphs of the one thing we all share: our humanity.
